I need some help since I never created a website before and I dont know if what I want to do is possible or not…

I’m a freelance illustrator with such a low budget that to be able to pay a monthly fee is sadly beyond me. But I’d like to build a simple portfolio website with my illustrations to find some work.

What I want to do:

1. a simple homepage linking to a few pages holding my illustrations divided by topic (this I was able to do)
2. in each page a gallery with the illustrations (this I was able to do also)
3. the ability to enlarge the illustrations, once clicked

… and the 3rd point is what I cannot find a way to do, without paying some monthly plan which as I said is unfortunately impossible.

Do you know if there is a way?
