My view of the html

previously my visual studio would auto complete my kendo code and would highlight it in differing colours, now nearly all of my HTML is just plain white with no autocomplete which makes writing the html much more difficult

Any ideas on what setting i can change to put it back to what it was before?

ive tried googling the problem but nothing seems to come up about the issue
