I am making a portfoilo app for my brother. He is content creator/digital marketer, so it’s going be a bit more dynamic than your average portfolio website.
One of the requirements is that there has to be a way to swap/edit images and content. Nothing too fancy like making new elements, just editing the actual data being presented from time to time. Given the requirements, i settled on a flat-file cms. We already have a hosting platform for our frontend, but now I am looking for options on where to host the backend node.js app on. I have limited experience in this regard as I have never hosted a backend not locally. What would be some good options for this.
Notes:
I am aware that making a cms, even a light one such as this isn’t the best idea given the multitude of offerings, but couple of reasons why the project came to be is that my brother is a bit too busy to make a whole web application using one of the offerings and I am looking to strengthen my resume.
I have looked at hosting platforms like hostinger, heroku, digital ocean and many more. Without much experience in actually hosting a backend server online, it’s hard to gage what is actually required an what would be overkill. That’s why I am here.
