So I have a question that a lot of people have already asked but I think it is best to ask it again, as most of the answers are more than 5 years old, and new technologies are being created everyday.
My exact question requires a bit of context:
I have a server visible in the internet, running ubuntu, and currently only accepting ssh in its firewall (+updates and other necessities ofc). I have a Windows Laptop, a Linux (also ubuntu) workstation and an Android phone, and I have constantly been wanting to be able to share files using the internet server.
An example case is my KeePass database, which I use on my phone, and computers all the time, and i’m tired of having to transfer them from one computer to another, merge them, and transfer them again (+ the security risk of transfering them using other software).
Another example would be the photos in my phone, which I very commonly edit in my workstation.
Is there any way of doing this ???
I was thinking maybe Nextcloud or something similar, but I don’t really need all of the features that come with it. Maybe a simple SFTP server should suffice?
I am open to all suggestions 🙂
Thanks.
