Problem:
I just recently switched from Xubuntu now to Kubuntu 24.04 LTS.
In the attempt to set up VSCode I noticed that VSCode always closes immediately when I press Ctrl+.
, which is quite annoying and shouldn’t happen.
Description:
I’ve been using this shortcut for years in VSCode on Xubuntu and never had any issues.
Since I have several problems regarding all sorts of shortcuts since switching to Kubuntu, I suppose this to be more a KDE/Plasma issue, than a VSCode issue.
Steps taken:
- I already uninstalled and reinstalled VSCode (including moving the
.config/Code
and~/.vscode
directories to backup folders out of the way) - I reverted all KDE shortcuts back to factory default
This way I wanted to make sure that not my prior configurations caused the problem(s).
But still, with a fresh installation of VSCode and factory default KDE/Plasma shortcuts, the problem(s) persist.
Question:
I figured out that KDE/Plasma has some weird behaviour when it comes to shortcuts, so how do analyse this and ultimately fix this?
