I’m doing a task for school where you have two VMware virtual machines with DHCP on VMnet2. you make a shared folder on one of the machines and the other should be able to access it by typing in the network name of the first computer in the file explorer. but they don’t recognise each other even though they can ping each other. Please someone help.

I’ve been trying this for like two weeks even though its should only take a couple hours. i’ve turned off the firewall and turned on all the sharing settings but they dont see each other.
even the teacher didn’t know why my machines didn’t work even though everyone else’s did work.
