Hello I had installed Ubuntu and VMware workstation on my Windows Laptop. Everything worked ok until I was in the middle of the installation prompts while on linux. Everything froze and I had to shut down the process through task manager. Now when I try to open the VM, it freezes and says
“Error while powering on: VMware Player cannot connect to the virtual machine. Make sure you have rights to run the program, access all directories the program uses, and access all directories for temporary files.
Failed to connect pipe to virtual machine: All pipe instances are busy.”
I try to uninstall the ubuntu disk image file I downloaded onto my internal SSD but it says “insufficient permission”. I went into the properties and checked the security permissions for both the vmware workstation and the disk image file. I have all permissions except the special permission, im not sure if that makes a difference or not, if it does I dont know how to turn those on.
I also tried replacing the file by redownloading from chrome but the second the download finishes it says “Needs permission to download.”
I am not tryng to download it on a seperate drive or have a whole seperate OS. I just want to run the VM while still being on windows.
I want to be able to download it on my SSD or should I do it on the HDD I dont know?
I am just starting to get into this stuff so I dont know the technical things all that well yet.
How do i fix this issue?
