In the editor for legacy styles, the polygon layer in green below (a contextual layer with visibility at zoom levels > 16) could previously be styled under the “Landscape” feature type in the legacy editor.
However in the next generation editor there is not a “Landscape” category. How can this contextual layer be customized in the new editor?
I spent several hours trying to debug this style that had regressed to the default color after migrating to the next generation style, and ultimately resolved it by changing the fill under the “All” category in the legacy editor and then migrating to the next generation styles. However this isn’t ideal because I have to change back some other layers that were affected by the change, and it also seems like a bug that Landscape layer customization wasn’t carried over, and an oversight that this isn’t customizable in the next generation editor.
Additionally the workaround I did will no longer be an option for new map styles or for others that don’t notice this before migrating their legacy styles.

After migrating to the next generation of cloud-based map styling, I expected I would be able to style any layer that had migrated over. But since there is not an All nor a Landscape option in the new Customize experience, I was not able style the layer. It also hadn’t migrated with the previously selected customization.
