i’m using a unit circle
⚪
so i have magnitude [8] and direction [70° or 1.22π].
this makes sense to me! It neatly forms a right triangle, and by using trig, the study of how the sides and angles of a right triangle relate, i could solve for the opposite and adjacent using SOHCAHTOA
What confuses me is that when you make the angle more obtuse*, like let’s says i have a magnitude [8] and direction [114° or 2π]
then after you form a right triangle with this, to solve for the opposite and adjacent, the angle of the right triangle doesn’t look anything close to 114°.
Is the original angle that you use to form the vector different from the angle that the right triangle you create with it is using? inhales deeply
i created tons of little unit circles,
drew lots of right angles,
programmed it successfully,
still confused about something.
