The situation is a fairly specific

Video game sound will only come out of the HDMI connection to the tv.

If I don’t plug in the HDMI cable the on board speakers will not play sound for video games.

If I have the cable HDMI cable plugged in but the on board speakers selected as device there will be no sound for video games.

All other sounds work through the on board speakers.

I have specifically set the games to use the on board speakers no matter what in the sound settings.

The only way the games play sounds is if the main device is the HDMI regardless if the cable is plugged in and through the TV.

Again please note all other system and application sounds work through the speakers. It is just video games.

I tried disabling all other devices in device manager and the sound control panel. It didn’t fix anything. I tried reinstalling the games.

I have an nvidia graphics card. I tried looking in all its settings and I couldn’t find anything.

Any help would be appreciated.
