I’m using a PoE camera connected to a PC, but I’m having trouble with the real-time streaming speed. The issue happens when the camera is connected through a 2.5Gbe hub and Ethernet cable, both on Windows 11 and Linux Ubuntu 18.04.
The camera streams smoothly through its web interface, but it’s very slow when accessed through other programs. I’m using RTSP to get the feed and have tried different video players, but all show a delay of 1500ms. I’ve also optimized the H.264 codec settings, but the delay remains.
Current Setup:
- PoE camera connected via a 2.5Gbe hub and Ethernet cable.
- Tested on both Windows 11 and Linux Ubuntu 18.04.
- Camera streams fine through the web interface but is slow with other programs.
- RTSP stream used to retrieve the feed.
- Tested on both high-performance and low-performance laptops with the same results.
- 1500ms delay even after optimizing H.264 codec.
- Tried various video players with no improvement.
