I’m pretty new to this RFID/NFC stuff but I plan to build a little access system using NFC/RFID Readers. It is not a high security task but my acual plan is to activate a remote door lock using a own C# Application after verify via a RFID Card or NFT Tag.
Because I know I’m a full noob I just ordered some cheap stuff from china to play a little around and may learn something. Until now no package arrived at all but I already have alot of questionsmarks above my head.
Mifare Blank Cards
I ordered a bunch of Mifare Cards with the following specifications and I also got a RFID/NFC Reader which does not seem to have a acual writing functionality. It states that it can copy, read, duplicate RFID/NFC Cards. So how does it copy/duplicate cards if it can not write? It is also only working on 125khz so it is maybe completly the wrong device.
Anyways.. According to the Mifare cards they say they can be programmed but can not change the UID.
Is it a valid aproach to use that blank cards and just read their UID and save the UID to the according user data set in my database to identify who is trying to get in or are they really ment to be written? If so, are there cheap devices that I could use ans also integrate into my application?
Do not want to repeat myself but since I know I’m a noob, I also ordered a bunch of NFC Tag Stickers (rewriteable NTAG215 / 504 Bytes – as they say).
How could I write those NFC Stickers using a C# Application and what kind of device do I need to do so? I know like every smartphone can do this using a simple app but I would like to do it programmaticly.
Hope some of you can give me a short crash course.
Thanks
Did not tryed anything at all until now since it is more of a theoretical question.
