I have tried different variants of my code, but neither of the two main variants has worked to get my API to locate the countries I want to work with. I don’t have much experience with APIs, so my first thought was that since the map shows the original names of the countries, that’s why my API couldn’t localize them. I made a variant of the code that translated each country into its official language, as the maps show, but it didn’t work.

Does anyone know why my API does not recognize the country names?

I was expecting that the API could calculate the distance with the new names.
