I have installed oracle client 12 and toad 12 with both 64 bit version Now when I try to connect to the local db then toad connect successfully but when I tried to connect to the remote database toad is giving error like connection time out does the credentials are wrong how to check If I have access to the db for which I am trying to connect like is there any other way to check that out like telnet etc ,,, secondly to connect with remote db do I need to change tnsnames.ora file it is havign host as localhost do I need to check this to my system IPV4 address or the remote server db IP address or it should remain as localhost?
