I need to move a thales 9K payshield HSM from one rack to another rack that is 30 ft away in the same datacenter.
Do you know if this will trick motion detection sensors.
I heard that it will trigger and will lock the entire HSM until Thales logs and unlock its operation in the new location.
Unfortunately, we do not have any support contract anymore.

Do you know if the locking is true?
is there a way to prevent this locking?

is there some guide lines on this move, a step wise process?

i have not tried anything, because i am concerned that:

a. if i move it will lock the entire thales and nothing will be working;

b. if i try to work on the sensors, i am afraid it will erase the LMK of the server.
