While attempting to connect to our Production environment, I have to begin by connecting through AWS VPN using the .ovpn config file. VPN connection is established successfully, but SSH into the EC2 is intermittent. One day it will work just fine, the next day it will output “Connection closed by port 22”. When that happens, I switch over to my Windows machine, establish a connect and SSH in, no problem. A few hours could go by, then when I try to reconnect, I’m no longer able to on my Windows machine and am able to on my Mac. Similar situation is happen to a colleague. I’d like to also note – in the hopes of eliminating any “misconfiguration” related inquiries – that I’ve been having this issue for several months now.
I’ve attempted to pull a new .pem file just in case I somehow edited my original, but that never results in a successful connection. I’ve also attempted to re-download the .ovpn config file and create a new profile, but that doesn’t always fix the issue. AWS Support seems to be baffled as well. Also, both of my devices are on the same ISP.
Thanks!
