I would really appreciate help. I applied for a job and have received a task from a potential employer. The task is simple – I need to implement a few things in the existing WordPress theme. The problem is that I can’t even start with the tasks. Besides the list of tasks, I have received IP, username, and password. So, first I tried to run SSH username@IP in the Terminal and everything went well. Then I tried to do the same in VS Code ( via SSH-Remote extension by Microsoft), so I added a new SSH Host, but as I try to connect and enter the password, I always end up with “Could not establish connection to IP”.
What have I already tried:
Restarting, and reinstalling both VS Code and SSH-Remote
Trying to use earlier versions of VS Code and SSH-Remote
Killed/Uninstalled VS Code Server on Host, cleaned the config file.
Nothing seems to work for me. Maybe, I am moving in the wrong direction? What can be the reason for this error?
P.S. I tried it also from my sister’s laptop and got the same result, so I think, maybe I am not even doing the right thing from the start. Thank you so much in advance.
