color enhancement for 3d printing from Meshlab website
Hi there,
I want to enhance the details of a 3D scanned model of a statue so its 3D print can look more detailed. For example, there are valleys between the fingers of a hand sculpture, and there are bulges and valleys in muscles of a nude sculpture. These features need to be accentuated to make them more obvious in the final 3D print.
I found an attached image showcasing the “color enhancement for 3D printing” feature from the Meshlab website, which seems to be exactly what I am looking for. However, I can’t find any details on how to use this feature.
I tried the Radiance Scaling shader, which looks like what I need, but it is a shader that doesn’t modify the mesh data. I don’t know how to use the shader data to modify the mesh data.
I also tried the Geo Unsharp filter. It somewhat achieves what I want, but it has no control over the scale of detail to sharpen. Typically, an unsharp filter has a radius setting, but Meshlab lacks this.
Can anyone tell me what the “color enhancement for 3D printing” feature really is and how to use it? Additionally, any ideas on how to enhance the overall details of a 3D scanned statue model would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
