I know this question has been asked and answered before. However, the answer no longer applies to the modern version of Chrome. So I am asking again for an update to this if there is one. I am curretnly running Chrome version Version 126.0.6478.127 (as of 6/27/2024) and I am trying to launch a local application from the browser.

I have made all of the necessary registry entries and the application launches fine. The only problem is that I get prompted to let it open each time I try to open it from the web page.

There used to be a box that would allow you to choose the application by default, but that box is gone. Then there was a registry change that would bring the box back. That no longer works. Has Google removed this option entirely or is there a way to do it? I have tried every option that I have searched for and currently none work for me.

Has anyone sucessfully removed this prompt in the latest version of Chrome?
