how do i decide what post hoc test to use for a 2×2 between subject anova? i will probably not reach my optimal sample size of 300 by 50 people or sth. my guess would have been tukey hsd. I would have 60 people in each of my conditions probably (but unluckily because of drop outs the groups will probably differ by 1-4 people) and only one of my factors is significant (so far). Any tips? Most websites aren’t clear so I‘d take recommendations for something useful to read up on this 🙂

I could try contrasts for my one significant factor but I‘m unsure what the advantages are of which test based on my design. I have the same problem with the ancova where 2 of my covariates are significant and i‘m unsure what post hoc test to use for that as well
