I’m a beginner in Android development and have no previous exposure to this area. I have some Java fundamentals and understand some syntax, but am completely ignorant of kotlin. Should I learn kotlin based android development directly or should I learn Java based android development first and then switch to kotlin? Please give me some advice.

I searched some tutorials for Android development and almost all of them are based on Java language. And kotlin seems to run based on JVM as well. Should I learn Java first? But I am facing a problem that in my development team, all the new code is kotlin except some old code which is written in Java. How should I get started quickly to solve the development needs?
