I often ask questions that seek answers to specific technical data. My searches are frequently frustrated by sites that have mastered the art of SEO, yet provide irrelevant content. Not my case, but try searching for “best leaf blower” and revel in the blast of scraped content websites that offer zero useful information.
Am interested in a way to detect these, and block or diminish their appearance on search engine results – I think this is a practical user enhancement request.
Thoughts, Ideas?
Literally, I was searching for SD card reader interface instructions for my wife’s restaurant oven. I am bombarded by scraped sales literature, nonsense “reviews”, and zero relevant information. I would like to filter these hits with a new figure of merit – “actual useful content”. I realize this is a big ask. 😉
Even an on-page feedback mechanism for users to report “this is useless”, that results in future search ranking (diminishment, lowering, ???) would help others, I’d guess.
