I have a ROG-Strix laptop, 2 2TB drives which had Win11 on it and was configured with RAID storage using the two drives. I want to erase everything and install MINT.
First I created a Mint LIVE USB using Rufus (I tried both modes, DD and Image) and also tried with Etcher. When I set the BIOS to use the USB drive it appeared to load and install Mint(all the splash screens showed while it was ‘installing’) but when I restarted and looked at the disk only the WIN11 partition was there. Actually, I noticed I was not able to get to the Installation Type screen – where it gave you options of Erasing the entire disk or putting the OS alongside the existing system, or something else. I tried the installation several times and never saw this screen. It would skip to the Partitioning options.
When I pulled the USB out I got a page full of errors which I assume meant it was running Mint from the USB still, even though it said the installation was successful. It even showed the welcome window with links to Display, Settings, Update Manager etc.
After a lot of frustration I dedicided to try Gparted to reformat the drives. I put the Gparted Live USB (loaded with Rufus and then Etcher) and booted I got the Gparted splash screen but soon after selecting the Default mode I got a page full of errors and it froze.
Here are the errors. It showed the same two errors (with very minor variations) several times and ended with the last six lines.

I disabled Secure boot and Fastboot. I turned off the RAID.
Is there something else going on? Shouldn’t GParted boot up regardless of video firmware? I loaded Mint on another ROG-Strix laptop – essentially the same as this one – a few years ago and the LIVE install went without a hitch.
Thanks for any guidance from here.
