As the title says, context awareness/full codebase awareness for Gemini Code Assist doesn’t work for me.
Neither on VSCode, nor on Android Studio.
I have purchased a license for Gemini Code Assist on the Google Cloud Console.
In VSCode, it is only aware of files that are currently open in editors.
In Android Studio I have selected the checkbox that allows the extension to use context.
It is not even aware of files that are currently open! No different than talking to Gemini in the browser where it has ZERO context of my project.
My country Luxembourg is also listed among those where it should be available:
https://developer.android.com/studio/preview/gemini/availability
I’m currently working on a Flutter, and Dart is said to be included as a supported coding language, see:
https://cloud.google.com/gemini/docs/codeassist/supported-languages#coding-languages
(It doesn’t work for any language on my side)
How is it that a giant like Google can advertise this and not keep it’s promises? What am I paying money for?
I must be missing something. I thought maybe it’s related to GDPR as I live in Europe.
If full codebase/context awareness works for you, please let me know.
