I have created a Power BI data model in Power BI Desktop where data sources are multiple excel files stored on a shared drive locally. After publishing it to Power BI service, that report is available to use as a Semantic Model. I have used on-premises data gateway(personal model) to create a connection with data sources.

Data gets updated/refreshed every month. I haven’t used Schedule refresh option but doing it manually from Refresh Now option.

Now, if someone from the team connects this Semantic model in Excel and creates diff visuals and reports in Excel, do they gets refreshed once I refresh the model in Power BI Service. Is there is a live connection?

I am not pro in this area, so please share as much detail/info as possible, so that I can enhance my knowledge. Any references to any articles or blogs are also welcome.
