I’ve been having intermittent trouble with using Okta Verify for 2FA for awhile. From a browser on my phone, I would log into something that requires 2FA, then go to Okta Verify and approve. However, the calling browser window never “hears back” from Okta, so it’s like the 2FA never happened. I finally realized that Okta had a warning message about my network, saying “Certain network settings for DNS can interfere with Okta Verify”.
Sure enough, it works just fine on my cell data and on some other wifi networks. I told my company’s IT team about this, and they said that at least one other person has had similar issues that this has now solved.
So I’m just curious if anyone knows which DNS settings might be interfering here. I haven’t done anything special with my network setup. I have Verizon Fios and use their router.
