I came across both of these sites(Openstreetmap and geofabrik) when working on locations. Came to wondering what is the difference between them.
Are they a branch of same organization?
Is one of them parent of another?
Do they both use the same data source or one of them is the source of another.
I’m a newbie in the OSM space. So, would also like recommendations on what’s better as a source.

I tried searching on forums but couldn’t get any info in such topics.
