I installed CUDA on an ASUS ROG Strix with an RTX 4080 and used it for a data science project to accelerate the computation of a transformer algorithm. However, after a couple of days, the screen started flickering for 3 to 4 seconds. Even when the flickering stops, the laptop is much slower than before. I tried to uninstall CUDA, but nothing changed. Then, I updated all the GPU drivers, but still nothing improved. I even tried uninstalling all the drivers and reinstalling them again. I also tried resetting Windows and used the factory reset that deleted all data. After that, I saw some improvement, but the laptop is still far from what it was, and playing any video game is very difficult due to heavy stuttering. The screen flickering has reduced but hasn’t disappeared. I really don’t know what to do at this point. I paid a considerable amount of money for this laptop, and seeing this drop in performance is really disappointing
