I have an Excel file with many pivot charts and slicers connected to each pivot chart. Sometimes the new slicer I create is for the same field as an earlier one I created but it would be attached to a new pivot chart.
It never did this before, but suddenly when I create a new slicer for a new pivot chart, Excel duplicates an older one. The result of this being that the new slicer is now connected to TWO pivot charts: My new one and an older one. I have tried going into report connections to detach my new slicer from the previous pivot chart. But when I do this, the connections settings for the previous slicer also changes. Its as if my new slicer is joined at the hip with an older one. I need the older slicer to only affect its pivot chart and my new slicer to affect the new pivot chart I have created but I cannot achieve this.
The odd thing is that it has only started to do this after having created many many pivot charts in my spreadsheet.
This could be for two possible reasons:
- There is a limit to how many independent slicers I can have
- My new pivot chart was created by duplicating the an older pivot chart, ie I copied and pasted then adjusted the pivot chart fields.
The second reason is most likely to be why. But Why is this? How can remedy this without having to create my second pivot chart from scratch?
