I’m trying to spin up an instance of the vanilla Google ‘collaborative heatmap’ via javascript and html/Firebase. I seem to have it mostly there, I can see my location clicks being added to the Firebase db, but I cannot get the heatmap/markers to appear.
Am I nuts or is there an error somewhere in this code/instructions? Might be missing a setting in firebase, but the clicks are going to db so we’re 95% there at least.
Im getting these errors on map load:
Any suggestions appreciated, here’s the code from Google Maps:

Google is deprecating map markers for advanced map markers but they’ve given a heatmap layer in this example. The error seems to be with creating or calling a user auth, which would be nice to have the sender as well so I can have authors delete pins if they don’t want them to be removed automatically with the timer.
I found a few old stack questions on this but it appears Google Maps has updated the code since then. The Firebase versions seem old but updating them doesn’t seem to clear any errors.
