I’m a complete noob and I just started my first class, Introduction to Linux Installation, for my Cybersecurity major. My assignment asks me to include a screen shot of the Device Manager Screen Security Devices to show the TPM status of the processor or the output of tpm.msc which checks for the TPM chip. However, there is no Security tab in my Device Manager, and whenever I try to access TPM status through tpm.msc, I receive the (pictured) error.
Error received when trying to access TPM status
I’ve tried to access BIOS a few times but can’t, and don’t know what to do, as this is a big part of my assignment. If there is no way for me to access BIOS right now, can I change that in Amazon AWS? Or do I need to make an entirely new instance and start over? I’ve done several assignments using this instance and I would hate to start over now. I’ve never used any of these platforms together and my knowledge on these topics is extremely minute. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you so much in advance.
I tried to access BIOS in order to see the TPM status and/or enable TPM. I pressed F2 , F11 & F12 multiple times & tried to restart the instance so I could get into BIOS from the startup screen.
No response to the keys & restarting the instance just ended my session.
