I need to reduce the Data max size (GB) of my Azure SQL Server database. Currently, the database is using 59% of the disk, and I’d like to decrease the maximum storage capacity.

However, when I try to reduce this option in the portal, the “Save” button becomes disabled.

The database is currently set to 1966 GB, but since I’m using only 58%, I thought I could reduce it to 1965 GB. Yet, when I attempt this change, the option gets disabled.

I’d like to understand why this happens and how I can resolve it. Theoretically, if my usage is at 59%, I should be able to reduce the max size to nearly half, but I’m unable to do so.

Does anyone have a solution?
