Explanation: I’m currently working on a project focused on analyzing player movement in soccer matches from various leagues like La Liga and Bundesliga. My primary goal is to extract data on player speed and distance covered from recorded footage. However, I’ve encountered difficulties in accurately converting pixel measurements from the footage to real-world distances, primarily due to issues with the camera angle. Despite attempting different methods, I haven’t achieved the desired accuracy.
Background Research: I’ve researched various techniques for camera calibration and perspective transformation to address the issue. I’ve also explored existing literature and methodologies used in sports analytics and computer vision for similar projects. However, I haven’t found a solution that adequately addresses my specific challenges, particularly in the context of soccer match footage analysis.
