I’m trying to connect a Mid 2014 MacBook Pro running Big Sur to an HP ZBOOK G4 with Windows 11 Pro for file sharing.
The Mac is connected to a WiFi Router via the wifi.
The HP ZBOOK G4 is connected to the same WiFi Router via an ethernet cable.
The router is a D-Link DIR-853/ET.
All features on the router work as it should be.
The router is configured to provide DHCP IP addresses, and the subnet masks are the same.
Accordingly 192.168.0.x 255.255.255.0
The wifi connection between the computers is working fine.
Yes, I can almost hear the whisper :), why do you want to connect via ethernet then?
Well, I have a small TV studio for a YouTube channel.
I use the HP ZBOOK to connect and control a Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro video switcher.
The ATEM has a USB type-C and ethernet ports.
The Ethernet port is to control the ATEM using Blackmagic’s Software.
The USB-C port streams Video/Audio, that I feed to the ZBOOK which runs OBS for broadcasting.
Content creation I do on the MAC needs to be shared with the ZBOOK on the fly.
It is for that reason I need the ethernet to wifi connection without having to switch between them on the ZBOOK every time.
The ethernet connection between the ZBOOK and the ATEM via the router is in perfect working order.
I cannot understand why the internal routing between the ethernet ports and the wifi isn’t working.
I appreciate your help on this.
Thank you guys in advance. 🙏🏼
