I am attempting to load auctex with elpaca and use-package using (use-package tex :ensure auctex) as from the auctex manual; however, I get the following

Error (use-package): tex/:catch: Cannot open load file: No such file or directory, tex-site

I’ve fooled around with a lot but nothing has worked. I was able to successfully install using the built-in package.el, which leads to me think it could be something with elpaca, but I’m not familiar enough with emacs/elpaca to say.

I’m using macos sonoma with MacTeX and Emacs 29.4
