A script runs nightly with rsync to back up one drive to another over the network, but only runs it with the “–delete” option monthly on the 1st, mainly as a “backup backup,” if you will.

I noticed this morning that I got several “cannot delete non-empty directory” messages, even though last night was not the 1st of the month and so the “–delete” option should not have been called.

Any ideas what’s going on here? I’m sure there’s additional information I’m forgetting to provide.

This is on Ubuntu 22.04.4 if that helps; the online package list tells me that’s rsync 3.2.7.
