I am new here and in the bioinformatics world, please, be kind(:
I am currently trying to obtain a list with the names, the chromosome position (or transcription start and end) of all the immunogloblulin genes and their enhancers in mouse (assembly mm10). I’m using the “Table Browser” tool from UCSC genome browser. While I try to apply filters to restrickt the query, i am not able to do more than asking for the letters “ig” to appear in the name of the gene (by creating the appropreate filter in the “name2” field). Does anyone know how to obtain all the names, and chromosome position of all the immunoglobulin genes and their enhancers in mouse in the mm10 assembly using table browser of ucsc, or any other tool in the database?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my question, and maybe provide an answer!…Best of luck on your work!
Selecting database and relevant fields
asking for a specific characters in the gene name here i’m trying to use the filters to add a value in the “name2” field which stands for the name of the gene. It’s applied as characters that need to be in the name somewhere. How could I restrict it to names starting with those letters? I tried to as spaces between the * symbol and the letters, but nothing seems to work…
retrieve and display data
getting the output
As you see, it’s not the immunoglobulin genes, it’s just genes that in their name include, somewhere, the characters “ig”
