I have two Hp proliant DL380 G7 and G6 servers.
Both servers have linux oracle 7.9 OS.
One of the servers is raid 1 and another server is raid 5 .
I want to make a full backup (or full and whole image) of these servers including all data, operating system, raids, etc. every weeks or every mounts (its not important to be automatic or manual). in case of failure servers I want to restore the entire whole operating system with all its data to another disks.
so What is your suggestion for this backup model and how can I make a backup like this?
is there any software for this backup model ?
Thanks
best regard
well i didnt risk on my data and servers so i didnt test any software yet
Creating full backups of your HP ProLiant DL380 G7 and G6 servers running Oracle Linux 7.9, including the operating system, RAID configurations, and all data, and for restoring in case of server failure.
you can follow these steps:
Steps to Perform Backup and Restore:
- Setup Backup Software: Choose and install your preferred backup software on each server.
- Configure Backup Jobs:
Define backup jobs to perform full system backups.
Specify the destination where backups will be stored (external disk, network storage, etc.). - Perform Regular Backups: Schedule backups to run weekly or monthly as per your requirement.
- Monitor Backup Jobs: Regularly monitor the backup process to ensure it completes successfully.
- Test Restores: Periodically perform test restores to ensure your backup images are valid and you can restore the entire system in case of failure.
