I’m Vindhya and I’m having some difficulty and need guidance on this project of interfacing instruments like RTO2044 oscilloscope and SMM100A vector signal generator for remote view and interactive control using LabVIEW software. By the end of the project, I will have to automate the laser and microwave setup in LabVIEW for an experimental system. I have the following to make this work:
- Agilent technologies GPIB Interface card
- Ethernet or LAN cables for instrument connections
- Rohde & Schwarz RTO2044 oscilloscope and respective power source
- Rohde & Schwarz SMM100A vector signal generator and respective power source
- A router
Please help me in its working procedure of software and basic steps like getting started and installing instrument drivers and its verification and precautions.
I discovered that by entering the instrument’s IP address in a web browser, i can control it in remote mode but I need to interface it using LabVIEW software. I installed LabVIEW and NI VISA and the package manager. Also got a brief understanding of the connections with the hardware. I installed an instrument driver but i’m not sure if it is the right one.
