I am a beginning graduate student doing research based on constraint programming. Generally, I use constraint programming and the Python-based ILOG CP Optimizer (docplex) package to solve problems for industrial applications. I have two questions.

First, can you tell us why there are generally more studies using other packages than studies using the ilog cp optimizer in journal papers?

Second, do you know how to study in order to conduct research related to constraint programming?

I am so embarrassed to ask this question as I have just started research, but I would be very grateful if you could give me an answer.

I searched for conferences and journals related to constraint programming, but most of them were too theoretical. I would like to find out research directions from an application perspective.
