I am currently working on a bibliometric analysis using the bibliometrix package in R. I have encountered an issue where author names with the prefixes ‘De’ and ‘Da’ are causing problems in the biblioshiny plot of most relevant authors.
Specifically, these prefixes are being treated as separate authors, leading to inaccuracies in the analysis. I have tried various methods, including manual removal in Excel, but have not been successful in resolving the issue.
Does anyone have suggestions or guidance on how to properly handle the presence of ‘De’ and ‘Da’ prefixes as authors in biblioshiny plots or within the bibliometrix package in R?
I have reviewed the package documentation and attempted solutions found online, but I am still struggling to find a reliable method. Any insights or examples would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for any help or advice you can provide!
I attempted to remove the prefixes “De” and “Da” from author names in the bibliometric analysis using the bibliometrix package in R. I expected the removal of these prefixes to result in accurate author name representation, particularly in the biblioshiny plot of most relevant authors. However, despite trying various methods such as manual removal in Excel and using regular expressions in R, the prefixes were not successfully removed, leading to inaccuracies in the analysis.
