I’m planning to use Amazon Redshift for my data processing needs, and I have some questions regarding the pricing, specifically for Amazon Redshift Spectrum.
I understand that Amazon Redshift Spectrum allows querying data directly in S3 without loading it into Redshift tables. I also understand this pricing model: Currently 5$ per one terabyte scanned data.
But from I read, Redshift Spectrum is not a standalone service and requires either traditional Redshift or Redshift Serverless to be running. How does this impact the overall cost? What are the baseline costs for having either traditional Redshift or Redshift Serverless just to use Spectrum?
My use case involves running queries against data stored in S3 using Redshift Spectrum, what would be the overall cost then?
Any detailed insights or example calculations would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.
