So, initially I was trying to correct a usb that had failed to boot a Kali Linux image and I began trying to repair it within the ‘(inittramfs)’ command section, with no luck.
(I tried the ‘set cmdpath=(drive)/dev/sda2’ steps and put ‘OG’{the name I have for my usb} with no luck, still.)
I then proceeded by reading about how to correct the problem within the GRUB command line. I’m not gonna play though. I already had a long day and was just over it. Nothing I read was sticking and I took a break.
Let me mention again that before, I was in the ‘(inittramfs)’ section and I DID also try:
- /dev/sda2 ————vvvvvv
- set cmdpath=(drive)/EFI/Kali
- set prefix=(drive)/boot/grub
- set root=(drive)
- insmod normal (came up as ‘normal’ not being a file or directory)
!Questions!:
- IS (drive) going to be the drive letter/name that I have set for my USB Drive? (Just wanna double check!)
- (4)th step after hitting ENTER, ‘normal’ was showing its not a FILE or DIRECTORY (So, what it be?)
^^^^^^^ ANSWERS PLEASE! ^^^^^^^^
AFTER:
With me just having been irritated I got back to it and already had exited GRUB and went to the terminal to try:
-
sudo apt-get check
-
sudo apt-get -f install
-
sudo fdisk -l
Nothing seemed to work or I’m just high on something and didn’t see it. I’m a noob and just started reading up on this kind of stuff about year ago. So, bear with me.
I do not want to just reformat this thing. I wanna fix it hands on the hard way or Easy way for a lot of you, but I’m ready.
Bring it…. ????????
P.S. I have to be very descriptive so I can make it as clear as possible to help y’all understand but if anyone is not clear, I apologize and will be able to help clarify.
Thank you my dudes!
IMAGES GO IN THE ORDER EXPLAINED:(inittramfs) , GRUB , then lastly Terminal
