I am pretty new to these WordPress plugins, which makes it challenging to understand the context of nested plugins.

I am trying to implement a Smart Slider, which is a Widget in Elementor, which is a plugin for WordPress.

When I go to add a Smart Slider Widget, it only gives me one option, which is this Smart Slider Boiler Plate image (the text and ‘Next Slide’ button are embedded in the image):

I have figured out how to add my own image – you can see the thumbnail of it there on the left – the guy in the dayglo vest. But I can’t get that image into my slider; the slide just keeps showing the placeholder no matter what.

If I click on the little pink “Edit Container” handle at the top of my container, my image will appear for just a second before it is replaced by the placeholder again.

I can’t mark it up if I can’t see it…

I don’t get what I’m doing wrong.
