I’m looking some stuff, so basically I need to host a local VPN/proxy server/service on my phone. The idea is that I will need to connect the same phone to the VPN running on it, so that I can capture the data going in/out. As far as I know for now, this possibly is the only viable way without rooting the device, because naturally the OS has limitations of what an app can access in terms of other apps activity. However, I am concerned if running such thing would require rooting too. Also, I’m wondering if it would just drain the battery.

The whole idea is to have an antivirus-like app which trained w/ AI can detect malicious activity.
Anyone has any experience with such things? How should I approach collecting the data for analysis?
